In Tyler, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Texas vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Fifties Oil Change and Service Center at (903) 787-5138; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, fiftiesatyourservice.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 100 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Tyler and suggests consistent service.

Tyler is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Tyler follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My experience at the Fifties Oil Change here in Tyler TX was delightful! It is a very charming, clean, fifties decorated establishment. Lisha, greeted me with such welcoming friendliness. She took my key and told me it would be about 20 minutes. She was so hospitable and said they had snacks, candies, soda's and water, coffee and that all of it was free! They have very soft comfortable chairs in a well cooled waiting area. I really enjoyed looking at items and pictures from the 50's era while I enjoyed a box of raisinettes! I was born in '61 but it still made me long for that simpler time. They are so friendly and kind and had me all done in 20 minutes. I had a welcome packet in the seat when I got into my car. They offer other services not just oil changes and Lisha said they will always keep their oil changes affordable. Very good, friendly people, professional work and such an asset to our community! I highly recommend Fifties Oil Change! Look them up on Facebook too!

Mike and the team at Fifties Oil Change and Service Center are first class. I had a belt squealing, needed an oil change and an overall ‘once over’ since it has been awhile. Honest and Excellent describes my experience. I’ve just found my new ‘car guy’! Thank you Mike!

Great friendly service, they have an awesome shop you can look around while you wait! They offered a FREE drink and snack while I waited and worked quickly and efficiently. They showed me my air filter and about some other services they do but weren't pushy like "those other guys". They had super cute pups that greeted me and I got to love on while I waited and they offer a military discount! Highly recommend you check em' out!
